Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information WordTimezone (word-timezone.com, "we", "us") handles when you use the site, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and concrete.

In short

• You do not need an account, and we do not ask you to enter personal information to use any tool.
• Your chosen cities and 12/24-hour preference stay in your own browser.
• The site is supported by Google AdSense advertising, which can use cookies — see below.

Information stored in your browser

To remember your setup between visits, the converter saves two small items in your browser's local storage: the list of cities you added (wtc:locs) and your 12-hour / 24-hour choice (wtc:is24h). These never leave your device and are not sent to us. You can remove them any time by clearing the site's data in your browser settings. The "What's my time zone?" page reads the time zone setting of your device locally in your browser; it is not sent to our servers and no location permission is requested.

Server logs

Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical data with each request — for example your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose problems. We do not run our own analytics or tracking scripts on the site, and we do not use this data to identify individual visitors.

Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)

We show advertisements provided by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, limit how often you see an ad, prevent fraud and — where permitted and where you have given any required consent — personalise ads based on your activity on this and other sites. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google requires consent before using cookies for ad personalisation, and a consent choice is shown to you.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them may mean you see ads that are less relevant; the tools themselves keep working.

Other services and what we do not load

Fonts and the world-map data are served from this site itself — we do not load web fonts or map tiles from third-party servers, so no third party receives your IP address for them. The site contains links to other websites (for example Google's pages above); their privacy practices are their own.

Why we process data (GDPR)

Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in running and securing the website (server logs), and on your consent for advertising cookies that require it. You can withdraw consent at any time through the consent choice, your browser settings or Google's ad settings above.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to, correction or deletion of personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we do not hold accounts or profiles, there is usually little data for us to provide — but you can write to us and we will check and answer.

Children

The site is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the local age of digital consent). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
